Summer Day Camp

2012

The Program: Each day begins with an assembly where we sing songs, play games and describe the morning  activities.  Each child decides what activity he or she wants to do that day.  Activities are followed by lunch, then off to the lake for an afternoon swim or boat ride.  New campers will spend their first Monday at the lake taking swim tests and exploring the beach.

The Camp Site: Is a 230 acre farm, complete with craft shop, nature center, sports fields, playgrounds, pony ring and a 60 acre lake for swimming and boating.

The Waterfront: Campers can choose to swim, build sand castles, canoe, paddle boats or explore for frogs and turtles at the lakes edge. All activities are monitored by camp staff and two certified lifeguards.

The Webster's: Knight and Dorothy Webster established the Farm in 1960 and today their son Steve and his wife Leslie own and operate the Farm.

The Staff: Consist of college and high school students, many of whom first came to the farm as campers, and now find the joy of sharing their camp experiences with new campers.  The Camp Directors are Casey Berant and Sarah Lutz.  Casey was a camper many years ago then a counselor and she now helps manage the day to day activities of the Farm.  Casey is a new mom.  Sarah is a Secondary Education Math Teacher and works for Upland Hills during the summer.  Sarah also oversees the Camp Bus and will often ride the bus to Upland Hills.  Nate Perkins is Mr. Enthusiasm  of Upland Hills.  In addition to supervising the oldest group, Nate generates excitement at Upland Hills Farm.  Nate is the father of three boys and is a member of the Webster clan.

Countless Animals: To play with from the smallest little bunny rabbits to the biggest Jersey Cow and all animals in between such as kittens, chickens for holding, sheep for sheering, ponies for riding and many other animals to visit.

Activities to do at camp: Counselors lead activities of their choice which allows for a vast variety of your child to choose from.  On any given day there are various nature, sports, animal and arts & crafts activities.   Examples include, but are not limited to tie dye, capture the flag, butter making, animal chores, zucchini bread, swamping and fishing.

Camp ages: Children 5 to 12 years old.

Camp hours: Are Monday through Friday 9:30a.m. - 3:30p.m. Latchkey is available before and after camp. There is a registration form for Latch Key.
