| We offer Spring and Fall school tours for
Preschoolers through 6th graders. After the long winter, a day on the Farm makes an ideal
class field trip. Spring is the time of birth and the Farm is teeming with baby animals.
Fall tours are popular with school groups and one of the highlights is a hayride to the
storybook trail and a visit to the pumpkin patch. To help teachers prepare for the field
trips, we've compiled a list of some of our favorite farm books. BOOK YOUR FIELD TRIP BY PHONE at 248-628-1611 or EMAIL the information to Sally at uplandhillsfarm@sbcglobal.net To reserve your date by email please include teacher/contact name, school and address, phone, email address, grade/age of children, number of expected (guesstimate) participants including parents and siblings. Please list your first and second choice of dates. Questions are welcome.

| Spring School Tours
Tours and Shows: Kindergarteners through 6th graders have the opportunity to attend the farm show. The farmers will demonstrate how the animals are used for food and fiber including milking the cows, making butter, sheering sheep, and spinning the wool into yarn. Preschoolers have the opportunity to walk from barn to barn with a farmer to visit the animals up-close for a more hands-on experience. The children will have an opportunity to milk a cow . Hayride: Everyone can take a 30 minute tractor drawn hayride through the pasture and blossoming trees. Storybook Trail: Take a hayride out to the woods and walk our storybook trail where the pages of a book come to life as your class walks through the woods. Lunch: You are welcome to bring your own sack lunch and beverage. There are ample picnic tables both inside and outside. We recommend that you leave your lunch on the bus until lunch time. Visit the animals: Allow yourselves enough time to walk through the barns on your own after lunch so you can pet the animals and watch the babies play. Playground: Two unique playgrounds offer a place for free time at the end of the day. Schedule: Please arrive as early as
possible. We will be ready to serve you by 9:00 a.m. Please set aside 3 hours for our
programs. After the programs you may stay as long as you like. Dates: May 1 - June 4, 2010. Monday through Friday. Please call to schedule a day for your tour, 248-628-1611. |
